TOKYO: Japanese Minister Shunichi Suzuki has claimed that hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020 in the country would cost 1.35 trillion Japanese Yen ($121.7 billion), Japan Times reports. The city of Tokyo and the Organizing Committee of the Games will be contributing 600 billion Yen ($54 billion) each while the national government will be granting a subsidy of 150 billion Yen ($1.35 billion).

TOKYO: The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020) announced on Tuesday that a face recognition system will be used to verify the identity of athletes, officials and other staff members as well as media representatives at both the events.

MUMBAI: The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games’ official partners, Tokyo Metro and East Japan Railway Company (JR East) have collaborated for a joint venture called ‘Tokyo Sports Station’ which will educate people on the sports to be played at the event and the highlights of the past editions on display screens inside the trains of the city.
