NEW YORK: Simone Arianne Biles, this generation's greatest gymnast (some argue of all time), of the United States has been declared the 2021 athlete of the year by TIME magazine.

At just 25 years of age, she has 32 combined medals in the Olympics and World Championships.

Biles' withdrawals shine spotlight on mental health

USA Gymnastics confirmed that Biles will not participate in the all-around final. She wants to focus on her mental health, according to USA Gymnastics.
