BRUSSELS, Belgium: The European Union Parliament has voted in favour of cracking down on the growing phenomenon of illegal broadcasting of live sporting events by creating new legislation, that will, among other things, remove all pirated sports content within 30 minutes.

MILAN: Serie A has brought in the big artillary in its ongoing fight against online piracy, agreeing a deal with Google that will see the technology giant remove video apps from its content platform that enable users to illegally watch live games. “Google has removed from its Play Store apps illegally reproducing contents owned by Serie A,” the league said in a statement.
