MALAPPURAM: In an eventful summit clash, hosts Kerala came back from behind and eventually got the better of West Bengal 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out to emerge champions of the Hero 75th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy on Monday at the Manjeri Payyanad Stadium in Malappuram. 

The hosts now have seven Hero Santosh Trophy titles to their name and it was the first time they won the competition on home soil since 1993.

NEW DELHI: The official draw for the 75th edition of the Hero Santosh Trophy was held Thursday at 3 PM IST in the capital with former India defender Gouramangi Singh assisting in the process. Ten teams who came through the qualifiers were drawn into two groups of five each for the main event which will be held in Kerala from February 20 onwards.

LUDHIANA: The 73rd edition of the National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy will be held at the Guru Nanak Stadium here from April 8 to 21. Ten teams — the top-two teams from each zone — will be seen in action during the championship, Harjinder Singh, former India international and honorary secretary, Punjab Football Association, told Tribune India.
