MUMBAI: Better late than never. The dithering by the Board of Control for Cricket in India over issuing a letter of intent to CVC Capital Partners, the global private equity giant that had put in a winning bid for the Indian Premier league's new Ahmedabad franchise, appears to finally be over. 

Multiple media reports indicate that CVC, whose links to online betting companies had been red flagged (by UK-exiled former IPL head honcho Lalit Modi for some strange reason) after its successful bid for the new Ahmedabad franchise, is set to get the all clear from the BCCI.

MUMBAI: This is interesting. A pointer, if any were needed, to the challenges international conglomerates must perforce confront in this market. More so when considering investing in cricket - not just India's national game but also one that in this country is intrinsically intertwined with political power plays.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic Association on Friday roped in Adani Group as a sponsor for the Indian contingent at the ongoing Tokyo Games. The sponsorship amount was not disclosed other than IOA secretary general Rajiv Mehta, who is in Tokyo, terming it as "good".
