Fit India Movement

NEW DELHI: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, under the FIT India banner, flagged off a unique expedition titled FIT@50+ Women’s Trans Himalayan Expedition ’22 in New Delhi Tuesday.

For the first time, women aged 50 years and above from across the country will participate in this odyssey.

The event celebrates India’s 75th Independence Day and is dedicated to the Central Government’s “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative, it said in a press statement.

NEW DELHI: To mark the second anniversary of Fit India MovementUnion Sports Minister Anurag Thakur launched the Fit India mobile application at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, here on Sunday.  The Fit India app is free and available in English & Hindi on both the Android and the iOS platforms and has been developed keeping in mind that it works even on basic smartphones.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced the launch of Fit India School grading system in schools across the country, in his radio programme Mann Ki Baat.  In his address, Modi said: "In the Fit India Movement, schedules have been drawn for ranking schools in accordance with fitness. The schools that achieve this ranking will also be able to use the `Fit India` logo and flag."

NEW DELHI: Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday called for collective efforts from the Centre and the states in making India a fit nation and help build a sporting culture in the country. Rijiju made the appeal during his inaugural address at the Conference of Ministers and Secretaries of the States and Union Territories in charge of Youth Affairs and Sports here on Friday, PTI reports.

NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry has decided to allow national and state sports federations, leagues and clubs to organise sports events in all sporting facilities owned by the government, free of cost in order to further the Fit India Movement and to make playfields and sporting infrastructure accessible, without fee, to all sports persons across the country from 1st November.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Fit India Movement from the Indira Gandhi Stadium here Thursday at 10 am on the occasion of National Sports Day. The movement has been launched with an objective to create awareness for good health in general public.

NEW DELHI: An advisory committee comprising members of Indian Olympic Association (IOA), national sports federations (NSFs), government officials, private bodies and celebrated fitness enthusiasts has been formed to advise the government on the "Fit India Movement" which will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 29.
