FC Goa has 33m fans across country: YouGov Sport study

MUMBAI: A study conducted by market research firm YouGov for Hero Indian Super league franchise FC Goa indicate that the football club has 33 million fans across the country. 

The omnibus YouGov survey covered 14 cities, which includes 4 major cities, 6 tier 2 cities (including places in Goa) and 4 tier 3 cities.

YouGov Sport names ONE Championship Japan prez to APac role
LONDON: Data company YouGov has appointed Hideyuki (Andy) Hata as senior strategic advisor, YouGov Sport, based in Japan. In the newly created role, Hata will establish the commercial operations of YouGov’s sports division in Tokyo and build the company’s presence in the wider region, following its affiliate partnership with the Nippon Research Center, Research Live reports.

CPL 2020 claims 67% viewership increase
PORT OF SPAIN: The Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) saw a 67% increase in television, streaming and digital viewership in 2020, reaching 523.5 million viewers and passing half a billion for the first time in the tournament’s history.  The research was independently compiled by YouGov Sport, a division of SMGInsight, one of the world’s largest and most respected research firms.

SMG Insight acquisition completed, YouGov rebrands
LONDON: YouGov, the international research and data analytics group, has brought forward the 100% acquisition of sports media measurement provider SMG Insight and has now been rebranded as YouGov Sport. It has owned a fifth of SMG Insight for the last decade and announced in May 2018 plans to fully acquire SMG Insight.
