MUMBAI: Six of the ten franchises that make up the Indian Premier League have formally submitted expressions of interest in the Women's IPL,  Cricbuzz reports.

On the day of the technical bids for the WIPL, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, SunRisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore have showed up with bid documents, as per the cricket website. Unconfirmed reports say Punjab Kings was also at the designated venue with bid papers in hand.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will reportedly allow five foreign players in the playing XI of the inaugural edition of the Women's Indian Premier League (WIPL). As per Cricbuzz, BCCI also stated that at least one cricketer from an associate nation will be allowed in the XI.

MUMBAI: The BCCI on Monday announced that Viacom18 have bagged the media rights for the inaugural five-year cycle of the upcoming Women's Indian Premier League.  The BCCI confirmed that the Reliance India Ltd-controlled network was the successful bidder for the consolidated bid for the media rights (i.e., global televisions rights and global digital rights).

MUMBAI: With the Indian cricket board looking at March 2023 as the tentative time frame for the inaugural edition of the Women’s Indian Premier League (WIPL), the BCCI is reportedly planning for five franchises contesting in a 20-game debut season.  Cricbuzz reports that a final decision regarding the same will be taken after the new board takes over early next week.
