THE INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY has issued the following statement: “It is with great regret that we announce the 104th Running of the Indianapolis 500 will take place on Aug. 23 without fans. 

This tough decision was made following careful consideration and extensive consultation with state and city leadership.

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida: NASCAR, which was looking to resume its suspended season with the May 9 race at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, has ruled out that possibility, but remains intent on running a full 36-race season.  NASCAR had suspended its season four events into the year when sports shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic.
