WWE chief executive Nick Khan has offered an update on the entertainment major's long in the pipeline plans to host a large-scale live event in India, which were majorly stalled by the COVID pandemic.

Khan made his comments while fielding questions during an earnings call Thursday wherein the full-year results for all four fiscal quarters of 2022 weere released. For the record, the company saw an 18 percent increase in overall revenue, bringing in $1.3 billion, which is the highest in the WWE's history.

NEW YORK: Vince McMahon stunned the wrestling world at the weekend by announcing his immediate retirement from WWE, his departure coming amid an ongoing investigation into allegations of misconduct against the 76-year-old. McMahon, who has owned WWE since 1982, will no longer serve as the company's chief executive and chairman.

MUMBAI: WWE president & chief revenue officer Nick Khan revealed during last week's Q3 2020 earnings call that WWE is teaming with Sony Pictures Networks India, their broadcast partner in this market, for a 2021 event that will focus on developing new "superstars" from India. While the event will air on SPN in India, it will also be distributed in the United States.

STANFORD: WWE Thursday announced that Nick Khan, former co-head of Television at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), has been named president & chief revenue officer, reporting directly to WWE chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.
