The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and its erstwhile commercial partners Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) had a fruitful meeting on Monday, wherein both parties agreed to submit a joint proposal to the Supreme Court on Thursday, August 28, regarding the 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL) season.
As per the current Master Rights Agreement, which is set to expire on December 8, Reliance-controlled FSDL has to pay “Rs 25 crore to AIFF till December this year”. The Times of India reports that FSDL has informed AIFF that it is ready to commit a further Rs 10-15 crore (total Rs 35-40 crore) for the remainder of the season. It is worth noting that as per the MRA, FSDL has been paying the AIFF Rs 50 crore annually up till now.
The daily, quoting sources privy to the discussions, further reports that if an agreement is reached, FSDL has agreed to run the ISL for one more year.
The two parties are scheduled to meet again to finalise the proposal that will be presented to the Apex Court on Thursday.
