The event proved historic for the brand, with two ASICS-supported athletes securing the top two positions in the Indian Elite Men’s Marathon. Kartik Karkera claimed victory with a timing of 2:19:55, while Anish Magar followed closely in second place, finishing in 2:20:08.
Now in its 17th consecutive year of association with the Tata Mumbai Marathon, ASICS reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to nurturing India’s growing running ecosystem through innovation, community engagement and high-performance footwear and apparel, according to the media release.
ASICS’ partnership with the Tata Mumbai Marathon forms part of a broader, long-term strategy to build a strong and sustainable running culture across India. Through its pan-India running circuit which includes collaborations with the New Delhi Marathon, TCS World 10K Bengaluru and the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon, the brand continues to lay the groundwork for a healthier nation. This effort is supported by innovation-led gear, community-first initiatives and performance-focused apparel designed to empower runners.
ASICS India and South ASIA managing director Rajat Khurana said, “It is inspiring to see the streets of Mumbai come alive with thousands of runners, many proudly wearing ASICS. The engagement we witnessed throughout the event reaffirms our belief that running in India is evolving into a strong, community-led movement. The incredible victory of ASICS athletes Kartik Karkera and Anish Magar today exemplifies what happens when talent meets innovation. As we mark 17 years with the Tata Mumbai Marathon, we remain committed to nurturing and investing in India’s running culture. As we build on this momentum, our next phase is centred on expanding community programs, supporting talent and bringing more world-class innovation to Indian runners.”
