Former Delhi captain Mithun Manhas was confirmed as the new BCCI president at the 94th annual general meeting of the Indian cricket board on Sunday.
Per ESPNcricinfo, Manhas is the 37th elected BCCI president (interim appointees have overseen matters on five occasions).
Manhas was the only contender for the president’s post, which has been vacant since former India allrounder Roger Binny stepped down in August this year. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla had filled the position since then in an interim capacity.
On the matter of “elections”, it is pertinent to note, as in the case of Manhas, the other newly minted BCCI office bearers have also been duly “pre-approved”.
The newly elected office bearers are as follows –
* President: Mithun Manhas
* Vice president: Rajeev Shukla
* Secretary: Devajit Saikia
* Joint secretary: Prabhtej Bhatia
* Treasurer: A. Raghuram Bhat
Jaydev Shah was chosen as the general body’s representative in the BCCI Apex Council. Arun Singh Dhumal and M Khairul Jamal Majumdar were elected as representatives to the Indian Premier League Governing Council.

* Men’s Selection Committee: Ajit Agarkar (chairperson), Shiv Sundar Das, Ajay Ratra, R. P. Singh (newly inducted), Pragyan Ojha (newly inducted).
* Women’s Selection Committee: Amita Sharma (chairperson, newly inducted), Shyama Dey, Sulakshana Naik (newly inducted), Jaya Sharma (newly inducted), Sravanthi Naidu (newly inducted).
* Junior Cricket Committee: S Sharath (Chairperson, newly inducted), Harvinder Sodhi, Pathik Patel, Krishna Mohan, Ranadeb Bose.
