CWI agrees to tweak CPL dates on BCCI’s request: Report

MUMBAI: The Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) have reportedly come to an agreement that both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) can take place without one overlapping into the other.

As per Cricbuzz, the CPL will now run from August 25 to September 15, instead of from August 28 to September 19, as is still showing on the official website.

Though the BCCI has still to officially confirm it, the IPL “remainder” is reportedly set to kick off in the UAE on September 19, running through to October 15.

“CWI is doing our best to help facilitate a smooth transition from CPL to IPL, without a conflicting overlap,” Ricky Skerritt, the president of CWI, told Cricbuzz confirming the proposed changes in the schedule.

The BCCI, meanwhile, is trying to plug a few more loose ends before it announces the dates of the remaining 31 IPL games, the cricket website further reports.
