DUBLIN: Pay TV broadcaster Premier Sports has acquired rights to the Guinness Six Nations and Autumn Nations Cup rugby and is set to launch in 22 Asian countries this weekend.
‘Premier Player Asia’ will broadcast solely via an OTT platform, similar to the Premier Player that is already in the UK market.
The new streaming platform will broadcast the remaining 2020 Guinness Six Nations Championship fixtures live and exclusive including every game from the Autumn Nations Cup, Advanced Television reports. All 15 games from next year’s 2021 Guinness Six Nations Championship will also be broadcast, scheduled to begin in early February.
As well as live streaming, the service also features a full video on demand service.
The new OTT platform will be available in the following countries – Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam. Roaming will also be available to subscribers should they visit any of the other countries Premier Player Asia is available in.

Formed in 2009, Premier Sports is currently broadcasting in the UK and Republic of Ireland with live and exclusive rights to the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Guinness PRO14, Scottish Cup and Betfred Cup, GAA, NHL, NASCAR and also operate BoxNation, a dedicated boxing channel.
