MELBOURNE: The four-Test series between Australia and India later this year is set to start with a day-night Test in Adelaide. The long tour (more than two months) is likely to begin with the white-ball games.
According to a report in The Australian, Eddings confirmed that he has been in contact with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly regarding the tour.
“I’m 100 per cent confident they are coming. Sourav Ganguly and I talk about it most days and we are already planning when we can catch up once he and the team get over here,” the daily quoted Eddings as having said. This was confirmed by Cricket Australia chief Earl Eddings on Thursday.
The paper also said that the Indian team will land in Brisbane, and the Indian team is unlikely to face too many restrictions despite the severe restrictions in Queensland and should be able to commence training shortly.
The Australian further reported that CA was expected to announce the schedule for the India series within 24 hours.
