ICC’s media rights, b’cast & digital exec positions filled

MUMBAI: Just under a year after the Aarti Dabas, the then long serving head of Media Rights, Broadcast & Digital at the International Cricket Council exited world cricket’s governing body, all positions have been filled for the executive portfolio she was earlier overseeing.

The ICC has appointed UAE-based broadcast professional Sunil Manoharan as vice-president Media Rights with immediate effect. Manoharan has over 20 years of experience in sports rights sales and management with a focus on cricket. 

Prior to joining the ICC, Manoharan was working with Star TV (Star Middle East Fz Llc) for over five years as director where he was looking after international sports TV rights sales for Star Sports. He managed the relationship with the cricket federation and sub licensees. Also, dealing with budgeting and long-range projections for syndication and revenue. . 

Before Star TV, (which Manoharan joined in 2015), he was associated with Worldwide Wickets, Mauritius (formerly ESPN Mauritius) as director. He also worked with ESPN Star Sports for 13 years.

Coming back to what was earlier Dabas’ portfolio of Media Rights, Broadcast & Digital, the ICC now has three executives heading each one separately. Alongside Manoharan as VP Media Rights, there is Finn Bradshaw – head Of Digital – International Cricket and Ajesh Ramachandran senior manager – Broadcast / executive producer – ICC TV.
