MONACO: Following the announcement SPORTEL Monaco’s postponement, Monaco Mediax confirms that SPORTEL Awards will be held from 26 to 28 October at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, under the honorary presidency of Prince Albert II.
“I am very pleased to be able to maintain this event. The complete program will be unveiled soon and will offer some great surprises, showcasing sports, its champions and the values they convey”, says Laurent Puons, CEO. “When I took over the leadership of SPORTEL, I made the strategic choice to develop the SPORTEL Awards competition and organize it as a separate event. From there, two distinct events were born: SPORTEL Monaco and SPORTEL Awards. Over the years, we have increasingly opened SPORTEL Awards to the public and sports personalities. We quickly realized that this new format was a great success.”
Today, SPORTEL Awards is a competition and a ceremony that rewards the most outstanding sports images, but also a series of activities dedicated to sports fans.
This year, due to the global pandemic, health constraints and social distancing, the number of participants in various events will naturally be limited.
“We are fully operational with the perspective of carrying out the organisation of SPORTEL Awards. The health of our guests and public is paramount and remains our major concern. We are doing everything in our power to guarantee that health standards are respected, enabling us to welcome them with complete peace of mind,” explains Puons.
The SPORTEL Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 27 October 2020 in the Prince Pierre Auditorium at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, with a maximum capacity of only 400 (instead of 800). Many sports personalities have already confirmed their attendance:
