Gov council expected to ratify IPL timings change on Monday

MUMBAI: The Indian Premier League governing council, which is meeting in New Delhi on Monday, will likely make official that 7.30 pm will be the match timings of the forthcoming IPL 2020.

IPL doubleheaders are also likely to be discontinued, keeping in mind host broadcaster Star India’s preference.

Star wants an early start so that the post-match presentations can be finished during prime time. The other consideration is the convenience of the fans, which leave the stadium at a reasonable time.

The IPL 2020 schedule will also be locked in during the governing council meet after the release was delayed due to a request put by Rajasthan Royals to play three matches in Guwahati.
