HYDERABAD: Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza has confirmed that a biopic will be made on her by Ronnie Screwvala, one of the top producers in the Hindi film industry.
The first phase of the project has already begun following her signing the contract for the film.
“It’s great. The talks have been going on for a while. The contract was signed. We are just looking forward to it,” Mirza told Press Trust of India at a city event. “
It’s all going to be mutual understanding. I think that obviously my input is important. Because, it’s my story. So, I will have to.
“We are literally in the very initial stages. So, we just announced it today. It will slowly get into the director, the writing, after that the casting. It’s still a bit long way to go.”
Mirza will join the elite list of Indian sportspersons to have a biopic made on her with similar movies on India’s 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev and badminton superstar Saina Nehwal being made currently.
Previous Hindi biopics include Mary Kom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Dangal and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.
