LONDON: Formula 1 has entered into a partnership with the world’s first virtual reality (VR) 360 degree brand ‘The Dream VR’.
As per the agreement, more than three million fans across 180 countries in the world will get to view unique content of behind-the-scenes moments of the entire Grand Prix weekend through their VR headsets, mobile devices, TV sets and Apple TV.
The Dream VR app’s F1 channel is already up with footage from this year’s Mexican Grand Prix and world champion Lewis Hamilton’s celebration after clinching the championship again following his win in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Later in the future, fans will be able to see more of the excitement prevailing amongst drivers on the starting grid before a race, Pirelli Hot Laps and the podium celebrations. Virtually, they can also ‘walk’ along the paddock, enter exclusive hospitality facilities, feel the adrenaline of a team garage and share the fans’ experience in the Grandstand.
