BHUBANESWAR: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Friday released the official Men’s Hockey World Cup anthem ‘Jai Hind’ composed by renowned music director and composer A.R. Rahman and penned by veteran lyricist Gulzar, IANS reports.
The anthem reflects sports, unity and inspiration. Rahman told IANS that the song has been shot in Odisha, Mumbai, Chennai and other parts of the country.
He met Patnaik ahead of the opening ceremony of the competition on 27 November.
“We are delighted that A.R. Rahman ji is here with us at Odisha. We are very lucky that he will be performing at two places, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Millions of his fans in Odisha are looking forward to listen to the music maestro,” Patnaik was quoted as saying to IANS after their meeting.
The duo also discussed conservation of traditional and tribal musical instruments and digitization of the music.
