MUMBAI: Social media giant Twitter has announced that it will be simplifying watching live streams for its users by making them appear at the very top of their timelines. These will include accounts of personalities, any breaking news or sporting events.
“We’re making it easier to find and watch live broadcasts. Now, when accounts you follow go live, the stream will appear right at the top of your timeline,” the company tweeted.
“Catch breaking news, your favourite personalities, and can’t-miss sports moments. Rolling out now on iOS and Android,” said Twitter.
In a recent TechCrunch report, the micro-blogging platform confirmed that it will be collaborating with its sister broadcast service Periscope to give its users the option for audio-only live broadcasts which means that followers can only hear someone speak, but not see them. The new feature is said to be available for all iOS users at present.
For the “audio-only broadcast” option, users only need their app updated and pres the “Go Live” button on the top of the screen.
