NEW DELHI: The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) has confirmed that the hosting rights for the World Cup 2020 have been awarded to India with the capital to host the event.
The decision was taken at the ISSF’s ongoing executive committee meeting in Vienna in the presence of National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) president, Raninder Singh. The event’s dates are expected to be finalised soon.
The combined World Cup will feature all of shooting’s three top events – Rifle, Shotgun and Pistol.
“We are extremely grateful to the ISSF president and the entire executive committee for reposing faith in the country’s and NRAI’s ability to hold such big competition’’, said Raninder in a release issued on Saturday.
India is also scheduled to host a World Cup from February 20-28 2019 for Olympic quota places for Tokyo 2020.
