NEW DELHI: OPPO, the leading Chinese smartphone brand, has roped in Brazilian superstar footballer Neymar for the FIFA World Cup 2018.
The footballer will be seen promoting OPPO’s F7 range of mobiles as a part of its contest. It is the first phone that brings 25MP front camera for selfies powered by aOcta core 64-bit MediatekHelio P60 Processor.
Neymar was associated with the brand previously as well in 2016 as an ‘OPPO Friend’, promoting the OPPO FC Barcelona edition.
Although the deal is expected to last till the World Cup, OPPO is keen to bring in more big names on board from time-to-time in the future as an OPPO Friend for some of their campaigns, an OPPO spokesperson said.
The brand has made a name for itself as the second-best when it comes to market share of smartphones in India, positioning itself as ‘The Selfie Expert and Leader’.
It lays claim to being the first smartphone brand that brings Artificial Intelligence 2.0 into selfie feature in India with years of R&D.
It is the official sponsor of the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams and is endorsed in this market by Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Sidharth Malhotra.
