MUMBAI: Baseline Ventures, a sports marketing, celebrity management and brand licensing firm, has achieved billings of over Rs 1 billion in 2017.
The firm, which represents the likes of PV Sindhu, Ravindra Jadeja and rising stars like U-19 cricket captain, Prithwi Shaw, grew its billings by almost 45 per cent on the back of some blue chip clients, including the ATP and the FIFA U-17 World Cup, a press release states.
Baseline has also recently raised $1 million in private placement from a Singapore investor where the firm is currently valued at $25 million.
Baselineâs roster also includes badminton player Kidambi Srikanth, cricket star Smriti Mandhana , and actress Zaira Wasim who starred in âDangalâ and âSecret Superstarâ.
Tuhin Mishra, managing director of Baseline, said: âWhile we have a very strong offering in popular sports like cricket and badminton, we have also made a conscious attempt to have a significant presence in more niche sports. We also represent the legendary Pankaj Advani, 18-time World Champion in Snooker and Billiards, and Arjun Maini, Indiaâs only GP3 winner and Haas F1 development driver in Motor Sports.â
Speaking on their future plans, Mishra also revealed that Baseline was close to making a big announcement with a major national sports association for a new sporting league.
Baselineâs current client list includes Pepsico, MRF, Infosys, Nokia, HCL Technologies, Bridgestone, Xiaomi, Bank of Baroda, Hero Moto Corp, Vizag Steel, Panasonic Batteries, Reckitt Benkeiser, NTPC, Coal India, Johnson & Johnson, Gillette, ACT Fibernet, Nippon Paints, Parle Foods, Titan Industries, and Equitas Bank.
The company was instrumental in raising sponsorship money for U-17 FIFA World Cup, roping in all six national supporters for the first ever FIFA event in India. They also work closely with Chennai Super Kings, ATP, and the Bear Gryll Survival Academy. They are also the exclusive licensees of the Liverpool Football Club in India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh.
