NEW DELHI: Cricketer Harbhajan Singh has hit back at social media posts alleging that he had received favours from the real estate brand he had been endorsing, while home buyers have lost money on undelivered promises.
Investors who had put money in housing schemes that have not delivered on time, took to social media this week claiming Singh and fellow cricketer MS Dhoni, who had been the faces of some real estate brands, had received free houses while they were still waiting for their investments to bear fruit.
Singh hit back on twitter, saying he too had been deceived by the company and that his and Dhoni’s names were used to ‘make money from the public’.
Dhoni had pulled out of promoting real estate company Amrapali last year after they failed to deliver on their promises. The firm had allegedly offered to gift villas to the 2011 World Cup winning team that also included Singh. The off spinner claimed that the gifts never materialised and had openly supported Dhoni’s decision to disassociate himself from the brand.
