With less than a month remaining before Jay Shah steps down as Indian cricket board secretary to take over as ICC chairman, the BCCI is yet to announce the name of his replacement.
Recent media reports suggesting that Delhi & District Cricket Association president Rohan Jaitley (son of the late BJP leader Arun Jaitley) was a shoo-in to replace Shah have been dismissed as hasty surmising.
Per Times of India, despite rumours circulating about Jaitley potentially becoming the next BCCI secretary, sources have confirmed to the daily that he is NOT in the running to succeed Shah.
Times Now, meanwhile, reports that the BCCI has not taken any final decision yet. The news channel quoted a senior BCCI official as saying that no name has been finalized yet. A final call on the name will be taken after consultation with all stakeholders.
