The All India Football Federation has reached agreement with Sony Sports Network to broadcast live the I-league 2024-25 matches, “ensuring widespread coverage and greater visibility for the I-league”.
Sony Sports has agreed to broadcast the matches on their channels free of cost.
Per Khel Now, the decision was announced on 20th September at a virtual meeting between the AIFF and representatives of all I-League clubs that was called to discuss the upcoming I-League 2024-25 season.
Aside from this, the AIFF made two other key commitments to the I-league clubs.
i) No reduction in I-League subsidy: The AIFF assured the clubs that there will be no reduction in the subsidy provided to I-League clubs for the 2024-25 season, addressing a major concern raised by several club representatives.
ii) No Broadcast costs for clubs: It was confirmed that I-League clubs will not be required to bear any broadcast-related costs, relieving clubs of this financial burden.
