KIBI Sports sues CCL’s Punjab franchise, cites ‘contract breach’

KIBI Sports Pvt. Ltd., a digital sports marketing agency, has officially initiated legal proceedings against Punjab De Sher, a team affiliated with the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), alleging “breach of contract and non-payment of service fees”.

Per KIBI Sports, the agency, “under a duly signed agreement, was appointed as the exclusive sponsorship partner for Punjab De Sher. As per the agreement, the team was contractually obligated to pay a 15% agency fee on all sponsorships facilitated and executed by KIBI Sports. Despite the successful onboarding of sponsors and campaign activations by KIBI, Punjab De Sher defaulted on the agreed compensation, violating the core terms of the agreement without any valid explanation”.

The agency further alleged: “Additionally, KIBI Sports had facilitated and executed deliverables for reputed brands. However, the team failed to honor the payment terms. Multiple attempts at amicable resolution and mediation were made but were either ignored or declined by Punjab De Sher.

“Given the breakdown of communication and continued default, KIBI Sports has filed a civil suit, and the Hon’ble Court has now issued a summons to Punjab De Sher.”

KIBI Sports founder & CEO Sagar Rai stated: “This legal action is not just about our compensation, it is about setting a precedent in the Indian sports ecosystem.

“We believe in upholding professionalism, ensuring transparency, and honoring contractual integrity in all sports collaborations. This case is about fairness, respect, and accountability.”
