Former India cricket team captain Kapil Dev has extended his support to the Telangana state’s plan to set up Young India Sports University.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy briefed the cricketing legend about the efforts being taken to promote sports infrastructure and talent development across the state.
“Kapil Dev expressed his interest in supporting the state’s plan to promote sports ecosystem,” per a statement issued by the chief minister’s office.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has evinced interest in establishing a ‘world-class’ film studio in the state. The actor met Revanth Reddy in New Delhi on Monday and discussed his plans to set up the studio with infrastructure with animation, VFX and AI-powered equipment.
Revanth Reddy also expressed his willingness to set up a skill development institute to train professionals across various domains of the film industry, the statement said.
While seeking the chief minister’s support in establishing the studio in the state, Devgn said it would go a long way in strengthening the film ecosystem.
