Dream11 has reportedly informed the BCCI it is terminating its ₹358 crore ($41 million) India jersey sponsorship deal. The fantasy sports giant’s contract with the Indian cricket board, which kicked off in July 2023, was officially to run its course in March 2026.
Under the deal, Dream11 paid ₹3 crore for every home match and ₹1 crore for each away game.
Dream11, which currently commands a valuation of $8 billion, finds itself under siege after the Central government banned money-based online games and their advertising under the newly enacted Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025.
While Dream11 continues to exist with fantasy games offering prizes instead of money, 90% of its revenue came from real money games. Given the hit the company has taken, it’s no surprise that the company has ended its partnership with the Indian cricket team.
With Dream11’s exit, BCCI is said to be preparing to float fresh tenders – likely targeting companies in the BFSI, auto/EV, e-commerce or telecom sectors.
The development comes ahead of the Asia Cup, which is set to kick off in UAE on 9 September, and will potentially see the Suryakumar Yadav-led squad playing without a front-of shirt sponsor.
