Mahindra Racing in GEN4 Formula E; unveils new M12Electro

MAHINDRA RACING has confirmed its participation as a manufacturer in the GEN4 era of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, which begins with the 2026/27 season.

The announcement was made during a special event in India, where the team also revealed its new M12Electro. This milestone extends Mahindra’s long-standing association with the FIA’s all-electric series, a relationship that dates back to 2013, when the company became one of Formula E’s founding teams and the first OEM to commit to the championship from the outset, per the release.

Over the past 12 years, Mahindra Racing has established itself as a prominent contender in the championship, securing five E-Prix victories, 29 podiums, 11 pole positions and surpassing 1,000 championship points.

The team’s journey will now continue until at least 2030, following an impressive 18-month resurgence that saw Mahindra Racing rise from the back of the grid to consistent podium contention under CEO and team principal Frederic Bertrand.

Central to this turnaround was the redesigned M11Electro, which powered drivers Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara to five podiums in Season 11, culminating in an impressive fourth-place finish in the teams’ standings.

Alongside its GEN4 commitment, Mahindra Racing has also introduced the M12Electro, its next-generation challenger designed to maintain its podium momentum and strengthen its position as a top-five team in the upcoming season.
