Decathlon unveils India’s largest multi-sport experience store in Bengaluru

DECATHLON, one of the world’s leading multi-sport brands, has unveiled its revamped Whitefield store, the largest Decathlon outlet in India. Spanning 60,000 sq. ft., the new space has been designed as a holistic sports ecosystem, integrating multi-sport infrastructure, expert coaching, community zones, sustainable circular services, and retail innovations.

The store features an expansive Omni Services Zone offering Second Life services, a Level 3 Workshop, and personalisation and design stations. Shoppers can explore enhanced trial areas, immersive showrooms, and dedicated try-and-buy zones for hands-on product testing.

Positioned as a community sports hub, the store will host coaching sessions across basketball, football, skating, pickleball, and gymnastics, along with workshops, a kids’ zone, a yoga and dance studio, weekly running and cycling meetups, sports-themed birthday parties.

The first floor houses 29,000 sq. ft. of fully air-conditioned multi-sport arenas, surrounded by interactive product showrooms that encourage customers to try and experience products before purchase.

As a testbed for innovation, the flagship store incorporates next-gen retail features including RFID-enabled shopping journeys, mobile checkout, and a unified commerce model connecting the Decathlon app, website, and store to ensure a seamless shopping experience.

Decathlon India CEO Sankar Chatterjee said, “Sports has evolved significantly in India over the last ten years, and we have witnessed this transformation closely. The KPMG report notes that the pay-and-play facilities (‘turfs’) industry is growing strongly. With more people actively choosing to play sports, our larger objective of strengthening the sports ecosystem through our playgrounds is further amplified. Through this, we create inclusive, multi-sport spaces that bring families and neighbourhoods together.”
