TATA MOTORS has felicitated the Indian women’s cricket team following their historic ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 triumph, gifting each player the newly launched Tata Sierra to mark the landmark achievement.
Members of the World Cup-winning squad were seen alongside Tata Sons and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPVL) chairman N. Chandrasekaran and TMPVL managing director and chief executive officer Shailesh Chandra at the felicitation ceremony.
In a statement issued on 6 November, Tata Motors said, “The Company will be presenting the top-end model of the Sierra to each member of the team, applauding their indomitable spirit and recognizing their immense contribution and sacrifice in bringing glory to the country.”
India brought an end to a decades-long wait for a Women’s World Cup title with a memorable victory over South Africa in the final on 2 November, played on home soil. A fluent 87 from Shafali Verma, combined with a five-wicket haul from Deepti Sharma, powered India to a commanding 52-run win in front of a packed crowd, sealing one of the most significant moments in Indian women’s cricket history.
