SONY PICTURES NETWORKS INDIA (SPNI), the home of the Australian Open in India since 2015, has reinforced its long-standing relationship with Tennis Australia by extending its exclusive broadcast partnership.
Under the renewed agreement, SPNI will continue to hold exclusive television rights, along with comprehensive digital rights, for the next three seasons across India and the wider Indian subcontinent. This includes coverage in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The extension ensures that tennis fans across the region can continue to experience the action from Melbourne Park through multi-language broadcasts, further enhancing accessibility and reach.
Widely regarded as the curtain-raiser to the global tennis season, the Australian Open sets the tone for the year with its high-intensity competition and iconic moments. Over the years, legends such as Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have lifted the coveted trophy, cementing the tournament’s place in tennis history.
