Sooryavanshi factor prompts live broadcast of India-A’s tri series in SL

VAIBHAV SOORYAVANSHI’s inclusion in the India A squad has prompted Sony Sports to televise the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka involving India A, Afghanistan, and the hosts, scheduled from June 9 to 21 in Dambulla, a report in cricbuzz said. The one-day tri-series will be broadcast live on Sony Sports and Sony LIV, with Sony holding broadcast rights for cricket played in Sri Lanka.

The India A side is led by Tilak Varma, with Sooryavanshi, 15, having scored 776 runs in the IPL’s Orange Cap race. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named to replace vice-captain Riyan Parag, who is recovering from injury.

There is still no confirmation on the three T20Is expected to be added to the two-Test series against Sri Lanka in August, though those familiar with discussions at the BCCI and SLC believe the chances of approval are bright.
