Archery Premier League (APL) Season 2 will be held at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road in Hyderabad from October 8-18. Organised by the Archery Association of India with support from the Government of Telangana, the 11-day event will feature six franchise teams.
The lineup includes Deepika Kumari, Atanu Das, Ojas Deotale, Jyoti Surekha Vennam, Abhishek Verma, and Ankita Bhakat, alongside international Olympic and world champions.
Launched in 2025, the APL is the world’s only franchise-based archery league, backed by World Archery and World Archery Asia. The competition uses a 15-second shot clock, five seconds shorter than the Olympic standard, placing greater emphasis on speed and decision-making under pressure.
The six competing franchises are Mighty Marathas, Rajputana Royals, Prithviraaj Yodhas, Kakatiya Knights, Chero Archers, and Chola Chiefs. A total of 48 archers will compete across recurve and compound disciplines in a double round-robin format, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals before the final on October 18.
Rajputana Royals enter as defending champions, having won the inaugural edition, which featured Olympic gold medallist Mete Gazoz and Compound World Champion Ella Gibson.
