MUMBAI: FanCode will be broadcasting the Carabao Cup and EFL Championship exclusively for 2023-24 season in India. Select matches from both English competitions will be livestreamed throughout the season. The Championships starts on August 5, with Sheffield Wednesday taking on Southampton in the first game. The Carabao Cup is set
to begin from August 8.
The EFL Championship is England’s top-tier competition after the Premier League and will feature teams like Leeds United, Southampton, Leicester City, Watford, Blackburn Rovers. The top team automatically wins promotion to the Premier League, while teams ranked 2nd to 5th compete in playoffs for the final two promotion spots.
The Carabao Cup is England’s prestigious domestic cup competition. Manchester United are the defending champions and all the top Premier League teams will be competing in it. Premier League teams usually join the competition from Round 2 & Round 3. Liverpool (9) and Manchester City (8) are among the two most successful teams in the
competition, a media release said.
