NEW DELHI: Health and fitness startup Healthquad announced Thursday that it had raised $1 million (about Rs 7.5 crore) in funding, as too the onboarding of Australian fast bowler and Test captain Pat Cummins as brand ambassador and investor.
On his association with Healthquad, Cummins said: “The experience of playing in the IPL has given me significant insight into the potential of the Indian health and fitness ecosystem. Anything to do with the health tech space excites me and I’m looking forward to strengthening this existing symbiotic relationship with fitness through Healthquad.”
Chandra Reddy of Beyond Advisory, as transaction advisors, said: “The versatility and the horizontal nature of the Healthquad platform is an attractive proposition. It is conducive to integrating with the fast growing health tech ecosystem, including apps, wearables and other devices. We plan to scale the business in India and across other geographies. We are delighted to be associated with Pat and other (unnamed) consortia members for their hard work and vision to be part of this exciting journey.”
Healthquad claims its platform gives users a complete view of their health by considering various parameters like calorie intake, daily step count, sleep patterns, water intake, and calorie burn to give an accurate health picture.
