ABU DHABI: Organisers of the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament have announced dates for the 2020 edition of cricket’s newest short format iteration.
IF the concerned government authorities give the all clear, the 2020 edition of the tournament will run from November 19 through to November 28 and will once again boast Aldar Properties as title sponsor and be hosted by Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Abu Dhabi Cricket, with a target to build upon the thriving popularity of the global game and the destination hosting and business credentials of Abu Dhabi.
While the 2019 edition saw 124,000 fans descend on Zayed Cricket Stadium across the 10 days of tournament play, it would be safe to presume the organisers have no such ambitions the 2020 edition and that if spectators are allowed at all, it will only be a bonus.
For the record, the 2019 edition of Abu Dhabi T10 was won by Dwayne Bravo-led Maratha Arabians.
