JIO PLATFORMS HAS appointed Akash Ambani as Managing Director for a five-year term, effective April 9, ahead of the company’s proposed IPO. The appointment was approved at a board meeting on the same date.
Jio Platforms Ltd. (JPL) is a technology company and a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, headquartered in Mumbai.
Akash Ambani, the eldest son of Mukesh Ambani, joined Reliance Jio Infocomm as a non-executive director in 2014 after graduating in economics from Brown University. He was elevated to the position of chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm in June 2022. Jio Platforms is preparing to file its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI for a public listing.
