ALL INDIA PUBLIC SECTOR Table Tennis Tournament 2025–26 got underway at the K.D. Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow on 28 January. The tournament was inaugurated by LIC of India executive director (HRD & training) Salil Vishwanath.
The opening ceremony was attended by several senior officials, including Lucknow division senior divisional manager Sanjay Kumar Singh; Mumbai central office secretary (HRD & training) S. Gayathri; and Kanpur north central zone regional manager (HRD) Ajay Kumar Mishra.
An annual event under the All India Public Sector Sports Control Board, the tournament is being hosted by LIC of India this year. Around 120 players representing 13 public sector organisations, including LIC of India, are competing in the event.
Addressing the participants, Vishwanath highlighted the role of sport in fostering discipline, focus and resilience, and urged players to compete with enthusiasm while upholding the spirit of fair play. The tournament will conclude on 31 January.
