The Asian Cricket Council confirmed Saturday that the Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 will be held in the United Arab Emirates from 9 to 28 September.
The tournament will bring together the continent’s top teams in a celebration of Asian cricket, culminating in what promises to be an unforgettable sporting spectacle.
ACC president, Mohsin Naqvi stated: “Hosting the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE allows fans from across Asia to come together in a setting that mirrors our region’s incredible diversity. When crowds gather to witness the tournament’s unforgettable clashes, it will be a great reminder of cricket’s power to build bridges.”
The ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 will feature 8 participating teams, up from the previous 6, providing a larger competitive platform to emerging cricketing nations.
“The ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup is the marquee event of Asian cricket, and we are proud to present an expanded platform this year,” Naqvi added, “This year marks yet another milestone in ACC’s journey and a noteworthy development for cricket in Asia. With the inclusion of additional teams in the tournament, we are witnessing the game’s boundaries expand, both geographically and competitively. This will be Asia Cup at its finest.”
As per the fixtures announced, ACC’s flagship tournament will feature the highly anticipated showdown between India and Pakistan, with their first clash scheduled for 14 September.
A total of 19 matches will be contested in this edition of the Asia Cup, featuring eight teams – two more than the previous edition. India and Pakistan have been drawn in the same group, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have been placed in the other group.
The competition will be hosted across two venues — Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) holds the hosting rights, the tournament will be staged at a neutral venue due to ongoing cross-border tensions involving India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

Group B: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong
Asia Cup 2025 Format
Two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage. In the Super Fours, each team will face the other three once. Two teams from the Super Four stage will play the final on 28 September.
India and Pakistan can meet as many as three times in the Asia Cup. While their group stage meeting is scheduled for 14 September, they can meet once again on 22 September if they qualify together for the Super Four stage.
Host broadcaster Sony Pictures Networks India will be hoping for an India vs Pakistan final, which has never happened before in the history of the tournament.
