KOLKATA: The I-League 2019-20 trophy was presented to Mohun Bagan in a ceremony held here Sunday after they won the title in a 1-0 win against Aizawl in March earlier this year.
Aroop Biswas, Minister of PWD, Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest of the event. Sunando Dhar, CEO, I-League was present on behalf of the All India Football Federation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Mohun Bagan on lifting the I-League trophy.
“Congratulations to the players, staff and fans of the illustrious Mohun Bagan for emerging as I-League Champions! Indeed, a joyful occasion,” the Prime Minister tweeted.
