Barca tops sponsorship revenue charts: Forbes

LONDON: FC Barcelona leads the way among clubs when it comes to annual sponsorship revenues, with Premier League giants Manchester United and LaLiga rivals Real Madrid making up the Top 3 in world football, Forbes has revealed. 

Up $15 million over the previous year to $247 million, Barça is the only club in the top three that have registered an increase in sponsorship revenues, Forbes reports.  

In contrast, revenues for the Red Devils are down $12 million to $202 million while Los Blancos are down $16 million at $ 200 million. 

Barça and Real are the only Spanish teams in the Top 10 on a table dominated by Premier League sides that besides United, include Chelsea ($135 million), Arsenal ($94 million), Liverpool ($92 million), Tottenham Hotspur ($81 million) and Manchester City ($78 million). Also represented in the Top 10 rankings are Bundesliga’s FC Bayern Munich ($121 million) and 2018 Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain FC. 

According to Forbes, Barça make the most money from their deal with Nike, with $116 million coming from the American sportswear brand every year.
