BCCI awaits files in Sreesanth spot fixing case

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court proposes, the BCCI (read the Committee of Administrators) disposes… slowly, ever so slowly. BCCI ombudsman Justice (retired) DK Jain has said he has yet not received any formal request yet in regards to directives issued by the apex court to decide within three months the quantum of punishment to impose on cricketer S Sreesanth accused of spot fixing during the 2013 edition of the IPL.

On March 15, the top court had set aside the life ban imposed by the BCCI on the Kerala speedster. The court had then said that the disciplinary committee may reconsider within three months the quantum of punishment. The court had also said that its verdict will have no effect on the criminal proceedings pending against Sreesanth in the Delhi High Court.
