BCCI signs ₹270cr Gemini AI deal for IPL: report

BOARD OF CONTROL FOR CRICKET IN INDIA (BCCI) has secured a high-value sponsorship agreement worth Rs 270 crore with Google’s AI platform, Gemini, ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). The deal, which runs for three years, was confirmed by a BCCI official to PTI.

While the Tata Group continues as the IPL’s title sponsor, the addition of Gemini underlines the growing footprint of artificial intelligence brands in Indian cricket. The IPL 2026 season is scheduled to take place from 26 March to 31 May.

Notably, Gemini’s key competitor, ChatGPT, is among the sponsors of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL). When ChatGPT’s partnership with the WPL was announced in November, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia highlighted the broader impact of such collaborations.

“From global leaders in AI, manufacturing, and beverages to trusted Indian consumer brands, this partnership mix will play a critical role in shaping the fan experience and supporting the growth of women’s cricket,” Saikia had said.
