BCCI ups title sponsorship base price 15+% to ₹4.9cr per match

THE BOARD OF CONTROL FOR Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly raised the reserve price for its title sponsorship rights by over 15% as it opens bidding for its 2026–28 commercial cycle, setting a reserve floor of ₹4.9 crore per home international match, up from ₹4.2 crore per match under the previous title sponsorship agreement with IDFC FIRST Bank.

The new commercial cycle, which will run from the 2026–27 home season until March 2028, is expected to comprise around 35 home international matches.

The BCCI has also increased the reserve price for its associate partner rights to ₹95 lakh per match from ₹82 lakh in the previous cycle. SBI Life, Campa Cola and Atomberg were the associate sponsors during the previous rights cycle.

The cricket board has issued its Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the title sponsorship rights, with technical and financial bids scheduled to close on August 13. Quotations for the associate partner rights are due by August 25.

The shorter commercial cycle is widely seen as a strategic move to align the expiry of several of the BCCI’s marquee commercial agreements. Partnerships including the board’s apparel rights with adidas and official partnership with Apollo Tyres are due to conclude around March 2028, enabling the BCCI to take multiple flagship commercial properties to market simultaneously.

The move underlines the BCCI’s confidence that its home international cricket rights remain among India’s most valuable sports marketing properties and can continue to command premium sponsorship valuations.
