MUMBAI: Ticketing platform BookMyShow (BMS) has announced that it will be the exclusive partner for IPL match tickets involving home matches of four franchises – Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) yet again.
The deal will ensure that 50% of match tickets in this year’s tournament will be sold by BookMyShow, as it was in the 2018 season.
Back then, BookMyShow had tied up with the likes of PayZapp, Amazon Pay, Ola, MakeMyTrip and Goibibo to provide offers to fans such as discounts, home delivery of tickets, travelling, complimentary F&B and free team merchandise for example, Economic Times.
Last year, e-wallet firm Paytm had teamed up with Insider.in in a similar deal with Delhi Daredevils (the association has been extended for this IPL as well with the team re-badged as Delhi Capitals) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
BMS has kicked off its IPL 2019 campaign with the Mumbai Indians in terms of registration of home match tickets on Friday. Public ticket sales have begun from today. The e-commerce giant will also be holding several other online and offline campaigns to engage with its customers throughout the IPL in these four cities.
